Guthrie boys’ basketball played its first home game of the season Friday night in what was also their final action of the calendar year.Unfortunately for the Bluejays, they couldn’t overcome a hot shooting night by Bishop Kelley, falling to the Comets, 74-48.

Guthrie boys’ basketball faces one last opponent to end 2024 before winter break takes us into the new year.Coach Nathan Pennypacker and the Bluejays cap off the first semester of the 2024-25 school year with a home match against 5A-3 district rival Bishop Kelley on Friday, Dec. 20.

Guthrie defeats Comanche for second-straight win

Coach Jadon Davenport and the Guthrie wrestling team picked up dual win No. 2 on the season after downing Comanche, 47-27, Thursday evening.The Bluejays led for all but the first two matches over the Class 3A Indians with Clayton Carey, Wyatt Silvis and Tyler Powell each earning fall victories.

Mercy Hospital Logan County’s new Senior Life Solutions program helps seniors with their unique needs if they experience anxiety or depression because of life changes as they age.The program officially opened Friday with a blessing and ribbon cutting at the hospital, located at 200 S Academy Road.
