John Olan Balsiger was born November 16, 1937 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Albert Herman Balsiger and Vera Linor (Johnson) Balsiger and left this life on August 11, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. John is survived by his three daughters Kelli, Ammi, and Barri; wife, Nola Beth Balsiger; daughter Sandy; and son Mark; as well as many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who he loved dearly.

JoAnn Elizabeth Andrews

JoAnn Elizabeth Andrews was born on December 24, 1941, in Mulhall, Oklahoma to John and Elma Andrews. JoAnn grew up in Mulhall, Oklahoma until the 6th grade. The family moved into Guthrie after her brother Jack finished high school in Mulhall. She was a cheerleader in Junior High, and she developed many lifelong friends while in high school. Her sophomore year she didn’t know it, but she met her lifelong love of her life, Sam Le-Grande in biology class. Sam and JoAnn began a courtship her senior year, and they were married on September 25, 1959, at First Christian Church.

Ona Smith

Ona Smith was born November 9, 1941 to Claire Frances Smalley and Ona Dorothy (Everts) Smalley. She passed away August 1, 2023 in Guthrie, Oklahoma after her battle with cancer. Ona graduated from school at Duncan High School. She worked at the Oklahoma State University Registrar’s office and as a medical assistant for DR. R. F. Ringrose. Later, she moved on to Logan County Hospital where she worked in physical therapy and then respiratory therapy, where patients adored her.

Delbert Allen (“Deb”) Carey, 84, of Berryville, AR, passed away, Tuesday, July 18, 2023, after a long illness. Deb was born December 14, 1938, in Guthrie, Ok to Delbert Woods (“Jake”) Carey and Ethel Ellen Carey (Waller).

Karla Joann Sipe

Karla Joann Sipe, 67, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at her home in Kingston. She was born on January 6, 1956, in Kingman, Kansas to the late Gene Burress Redding and Bobbie Jean Greenroyd Redding. Karla was raised in Minco, Oklahoma where she graduated from Minco High School in 1974. She later attended NEO University in Miami, Oklahoma. Karla owned and operated Fantastic Nails by Karla and the Hitching Post Saloon in Kingfisher, Oklahoma for several years. She married Rick Sipe on February 14, 1993, in Kingfisher. For the last 5 years she has lived at Lake Texoma in the Sanders Island Community where she owned and operated Texoma Corral Restaurant. Karla enjoyed trail riding on her horses, riding her side by side and being on the lake where she enjoyed going fast all the time. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.

Katherine Lee (Killebrew-Brown) Pujat

Katherine Lee (Killebrew- Brown) Pujat was born July 9, 1954, in Guthrie, OK to Leonard R. Killebrew and Reba L. (Rosson-Killebrew) Fitzpatrick. She died in her home on June 30, 2023, after enduring an illness that rapidly intensified throughout the last week of her life. She was comforted in her final days by the outpouring of love and support from family and Church brethren.

Phillip Lynn Gellenbeck

Phillip Lynn Gellenbeck was born in Edmond, Oklahoma to Harry Dempsy and Vera Mae (Gibson) Gellenbeck on July 8, 1961 and went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2023 in Edmond. On November 15, 1980, he married his sweetheart and partner in Christ’s work, Rosa Marie Huskey, and they were blessed with five children and seventeen grandchildren who are left to cherish his memory: Matthew and LouCinda of Shawnee, Oklahoma; their children, Victor, Winston, Nate, William, and Landric; Michael and Sarah of Guthrie, OK; their children, Kelvin, Melia, Patrick, Saralyn, and Kaylin; Caleb and Lindsey of Washougal, Washington; their children Reston, Thatcher, and Emmett; Kelsey and Marcus, of Jagueyes, Chihuahua Mexico; their daughter Emmalyn; Robert and Nicole of Guthrie, Oklahoma; their children Robert, Kezia, and Kenzie.
