Roberta Ann Burns

1939-2023

Roberta Ann Burns, age 84 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on December 5, 2023, in Edmond. She was born on April 18, 1939, in Pleasant Valley to Edwin and Hilda (Koehn) Neuhaus.

Roberta was a graduate of Coyle High School. After graduation she attended Oklahoma State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in business. She worked for the State of Oklahoma and was a supervisor of the Department of Human Services.

Roberta loved gardening and took pride in being a member of both the Iron Mound Club and the Guthrie Gardening Club. She was a forestry board member and volunteered with the Salvation Army and the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival.

Survivors include her niece Juanita Plagg and husband Ron of Guthrie, nephew John Neuhaus of Guthrie, and her beloved foreign exchange student John Bakker and his wife Marleen and their children Jolle and Daan. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Don, parents Edwin and Hilda Neuhaus, and brothers Lawrence and Gordon Neuhaus.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel.
