Paul Leman Jones

1946-2026

Paul Leman Jones was born November 3, 1946, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to John Paul Jones and Wanda Mae Boyce. He lived a life marked by devoted service, love of family, and a spirit of adventure.

At the age of 17, Paul joined the United States Army. He served two tours in Vietnam as part of the 227th Air Assault Battalion and continued his military career in the Oklahoma National Guard, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. Throughout his many years of service, he earned a Legion of Merit and a humanitarian award for his work in the aftermath of the Murrah building bombing.

Paul married Vicki Glass on July 17, 1997. He was the father of four children: Stephen Jones, Phillip Jones, Allison Robinson, and Samual Morgan, and the grandfather of nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Jeannie Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Candy LaRue, and daughter Lindsey Jones.

Paul loved riding motorcycles and sharing the beauty of Oklahoma he found on his travels. He created a Facebook group to share photographs from his rides, and that community grew to more than 500,000 members. Through that group, his passion connected people from far and wide and became a resource for local businesses and travelers alike.

Paul will be remembered for his years of service to his country, his passion for motorcycles and travel, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and fellow veterans. His life touched many, and his memory will continue to travel with all who knew and loved him.
