Funeral services for Donnie Ray Whisenhunt, 82, of Guthrie, Oklahoma will be held at 2: 00 P. M., Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at First Southern Baptist Church in Guthrie with Pastor Greg Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Donnie passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 from lung cancer in Guthrie. He was born December 17, 1941 in Glenwood, Arkansas to Z.L. and Deborah (Eeds) Whisenhunt.

He married Carol Allison on May 5, 1961 in Guthrie. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Their daughter, Donna was born in 1962 and their second daughter, Sheila, was born in 1964. Donnie was a loving husband, dad, and grandfather.

Donnie was employed by Kimray, Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for thirty-eight years until his retirement in 2004. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, camping in his and Carol’s trailer at Lake Carl Blackwell. He also square danced with the Territorial Square Dance Club for twenty years. He and Carol enjoyed traveling as well.

Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Z.L. and Deborah Whisenhunt; daughters, Donna Hunter and Sheila Zoltowski; his sisters, Inez Atchley, Jo Ella Atchley, Loveda Kimmel, Wanna Domstead, and Geneva Burdick; and his grandson, Tyler Zoltowski.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of the home in Guthrie; his grandchildren, Brad Hunter and wife, Stacy, Dillon Hunter, Rayna Hunter, and Brooke Albah and husband, Jay; and five great-grandchildren, Aiden Zoltowski, Coby Hunter, Austin Zoltowski, Chase Hunter, and Callie Hunter. Also surviving Donnie are his twin sister, Bonnie Bulwin of Claremore, Oklahoma; and his sonin- law, Russell Hunter as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Donnie will be held Monday, 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P. M. at Smith- Gallo Funeral Home. Donnie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
