Agriculture took center stage Saturday as 135 girls from across the state gathered at Meridian Technology Center in Guthrie for the 2026 AgHERculture High School Conference.
The conference, hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, was designed to introduce young women to the wide range of career opportunities available in agriculture while providing opportunities for networking, mentorship and hands-on learning.
The full-day conference was held Aug. 22 at Meridian Technology Center’s South Campus.
Organizers said the event gives students an opportunity to meet women working in agriculture and learn about career paths they may not have previously considered.
The conference included speakers, interactive and hands-on activities, networking opportunities and time for students to connect with other young women interested in agriculture.
The event brought together young women from communities across Oklahoma and highlighted the many opportunities available in the state’s agriculture industry.
Organizers emphasized that agriculture extends far beyond farming and ranching, with careers available in areas including business, technology, science, communications, education and natural resources.
The AgHERculture conference is part of an effort to encourage the next generation of women to consider careers and leadership roles in Oklahoma agriculture.
