The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Guthrie Job Corps student, Jalana Taft. Jalana is from Lawton and has just completed her trade in Culinary Arts. She has certifications in Guest Services, First Aid, Serve Safe and Food Handlers. Jalana hopes to open her own bakery. United Way of Logan County raises over $4,000 at Annual golf tournament

GUTHRIE – United Way of Logan County raised over $4,000 at its seventh annual Logan County Open on Friday, June 2, at the Guthrie Golf & Country Club. The golf tournament, hosted in partnership with Guthrie Golf & Country Club, Mercy Hospital, and Eskridge Chevrolet, benefitted the United Way of Logan County and its 10 Partner Agencies.

Guthrie man ejected 20 feet from truck by distracted driver in crash

An 81-year-old Guthrie resident was in critical condition Monday after being flung from his truck some 20 feet by a speeding, distracted driver in a scary two-car accident Friday. Elmer Anderson, who was pinned under his truck, is suffering from arm, leg, trunk and head injuries, and was sent to OU Medical Center in Edmond by Guthrie Emergency Services.

4-H Robotics Club receives grant

Logan County 4-H Robotics Club received a Central Foundation grant to purchase iPads and update robotic sets to help teach 15 Logan County 4-H members about coding and programming. “Our EV3 Lego robotic kits only work with iPads,” said Jennifer Dejonge, Logan County 4-H Robotics Club leader.
