Body

As of 8:45 p.m., OG&E is reporting fewer than 4,000 customers without power as a result of weather-related outages. OG&E has more than 1,000restoration personnel working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible and will continue through the night. OG&E is closely following the evolving weather conditions this evening as snow continues to fall and temperatures well below freezing persist.

CONTROLLED SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS

While the SPP has not yet indicated that short-term service interruptions will resume, OG&E customers should be prepared. Should the mandated interruptions resume, OG&E will make every effort to communicate with customers about specific service interruption and estimated restoration.

Given the fluidity of the situation, prior notification is not guaranteed. Because of this, we are encouraging customers to prepare for the possibility of controlled service interruptions (for 1 - 2 hours) as these conditions continue. This will likely continue to be the case over the next few days because of the continued cold weather across the region and the demand for natural gas.

Service interruptions are mandated by SPP in order to manage regional system load and avoid protracted power outages. It is urgent we all do our part to conserve power to help the region navigate this current situation and minimize further interruptions.

Customer conservation efforts are making a difference in minimizing interruptions.
