The Oklahoma Sports Museum in honor of our Black Heritage Month and the contributions made by many Oklahoma Black Athletes is presenting a Special Display Honoring their accomplishments.

We have a Special Display to honor the late Henry Aaron, Jackie Robinson and two of the Sports Mueum's original founders, Fergie Jenkins and Geese Ausbie, along with displays that recognize the Negro League Museum  and Oklahoma players; Joe Rogan HOF, Hank Thompson and Eugene Golden.  The Sports Museum also has displays that include Oklahoma Black Teams from the past, Guthrie Black Spiders and Freddie Moulder, the first  Black baseball player at Oklahoma State University and Joe Carter WS Home Run.

Visitors will be able to view displays on the Harlem Globe Totters, OKC Thunder (including a Russell Westbrook jersey,), Blake Griffin, Buddy Heild, and Trae Young. Then we have many outstanding Black Football players including: Kyler Murray, Billy Sims, Joe Washington, Barry Sanders, Thurmond Thomas and others

 

The emphasis will continue through the months of February and March. Visitors are encouraged to come to the Oklahoma Sports Museum at their convenience whenever the Museum is open. Our hours are: Tuesday through Saturday  10:am to 4:00pm and located at : 315 West Oklahoma Ave..  Guthrie, Oklahoma
