Guthrie High’s football team bounced back from its last-second loss to Tuttle in the season opener by thumping the Duncan Demons 54-12 on Friday night, collecting 391 rushing yards and three touchdowns each from Kolton Carlock and Zane Thomas.

Guthrie High's varsity cross country teams traveled to Carl Albert on Friday as a warm-up for this weekend’s Tarter Invitational. In a field loaded with seven Class 6A teams, the girls finished sixth and the boys eighth in their divisions.

Lady Bluejays blank Elgin 4-0

The Guthrie High School Lady Bluejays softball team traveled to Elgin on August 29 and won a key district game 4-0 behind Kinley Duehning’s five hitter. Duehning went the distance striking out one and walking one in the game.

Pictured Above, The GHS JV Volleyball team in action on August 30 against Elgin. The Freshman won 25-10 and 25-15 to improve to 2-1 on the season. The JV won 28-26,22-25, and 15-9 to improve to 3-2 on the season. The varsity lost 16-25,25-19,22-25, and 17-25 to fall to 0-5 on the year.

The Guthrie Lady Bluejays overcame an early 2-0 and 3-2 deficit to post a 6-3 win on August 19 in their home opener against Carl Albert in a non-district game in Guthrie. The visitors jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead on a two-run home run off Bluejay pitcher Kinley Duehning.
