Guthrie Dentist Donates Dental Care To Patients At The Oklahoma Mission Of Mercy In Shawnee

The Oklahoma Mission of Mercy recently announced the success of its 12th annual dental clinic in Shawnee, where Oklahoma Dental Association member and Guthrie resident Nathan Brown was among the dental professionals who volunteered their time and skills to treat patients in need of dental care. Volunteers at the free two-day dental clinic provided $1 million in donated dental care to individuals of all ages, including cleanings, fillings, extractions and oral health education.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Maysen Garrett. She is the daughter of Mark and Claudia Garrett. Maysen is very active in Guthrie FFA and National Honor Society. She is the recipient of the Oklahoma Youth Expo Academic All-State and was selected to serve on the Oklahoma Agriculture Youth Council. She is currently the Guthrie FFA Chapter Reporter. After graduation, Maysen plans to attend a Junior College on a competitive livestock judging team scholarship and major in Ag Business. After graduating Juco, she will attend OSU to compete on the livestock judging team and obtain a degree in Ag Business. Pictured with Maysen is Rotary Vice-President, Tyler Calvert.

Guthrie Awarded a $625,940 from ACOG for Street Overlay Projects

The City of Guthrie received a $ 625,940 CRRSAA (Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act) Grant from the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) for street overlay projects, Originally the City estimated a $500,000 grant, to be combined with $125,940 of local funds. However, the $625,940 CRRSAA grant fully funded the project.

In the boys final, the Bluejackets stormed back from a 21-11 halftime deficit, taking advantage of five pivotal technical fouls in the final 11 minutes to produce a 52-36 win against the Wellston Tigers.
