'89er Fun Run

Get ready to lace up your sneakers and join us for an exciting community event that is open to everyone! Whether you're a seasoned runner or someone who simply enjoys a leisurely stroll in the park, our upcoming run is the perfect opportunity to get active and have a blast. Participants are encouraged to add a fun twist to their run by dressing in character, bringing along a furry friend, or even pushing a stroller. It's all about having fun and embracing the joy of movement, so don't hold back—let your imagination run wild!

This year, we're thrilled to announce a special partnership with the GHS student council (STUCO) as part of the vibrant ROCK week. The student council is actively promoting the run among students, making it an excellent opportunity for the youth to get involved in a healthy and fun activity. What's more, all registration fees collected from GHS students will be donated to the ROCK week charity, making every step taken a step towards a good cause. It's a wonderful way for students to contribute to their community while enjoying a day filled with excitement and camaraderie.

But that's not all—our run has also received the stamp of approval from the United States Track and Field Association (USTFA), making it an officially recognized 5k event. The scenic route will take participants through the beautiful paths of Honor Park, along Cottonwood Flats, and down Oklahoma Ave., offering a picturesque backdrop to this exhilarating challenge. Scheduled to start at 9 am, rain or shine, the event promises to be a memorable experience for all. We are also continuing our tradition of welcoming JROTC programs from across the state in our JROTC team category, and this year, we've added a traveling trophy to up the stakes. So, whether you're running for fun, fitness, or competition, this event has something for everyone. Join us and be a part of a community celebration that's sure to be talked about for years to come!
