Donna Jerene George

February 5, 1942 – December 25, 2024

Donna Jerene (Casey) George, 82, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day in her Guthrie home. Donna was born February 5th 1942 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Ivan Charles and Elva Ethel (Upham) Casey.

Donna was a lifelong Guthrie resident but loved traveling as a young adult with her parents and 1st husband while they served in the Air Force. She lived in Morocco for a few years and enjoyed telling stories of living overseas. She returned to Guthrie full-time in 1969 where she raised her three daughters.  Donna worked in the medical field at Logan Hospital where she made many friends but spent most of her life as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.  She had a true passion for baking and gardening.  She often would surprise friends & family showing up unannounced with a pie or a bag of vegetables from her garden.  Over the years she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, First Southern Baptist, Free Methodist, and Southpointe.

Donna married Don George in 1988 and were married for 30 years till his passing in 2018. Donna is preceded in death by her husband Don and grandson Jamey Daves.

Donna leaves behind a large family who will dearly miss her.  Her three daughters and their husbands; Toni & Todd Strader, Diane & Mark Davis, Kathy & Cody Hayes, all of Guthrie. 5 Grandchildren, Matt & Lacie Daves, Kaleigh Little, Jacob Davis, Cooper Downs, & Paige Downs. 4 Great Grandchildren, Avery Daves, Anderson Daves, Lucy Little, and Dawson Little.  She also leaves behind her best friends Delores Hirzel & Marthena Hensley. Her close special cousin Sandy Miller Paschall along with many cousins from her large Casey family.

Pallbearers are Matt Daves, Jacob Davis, Cooper Downs, Anderson Daves, Todd Strader, and Mark Davis.

Funeral service will be at the Smith-Gallo Funeral Home Chapel, 220 North 1st Street, Guthrie, at 10:00am on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.  Zach Robbins officiating. Interment to follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, Ok.

 At family request, there is no viewing.
