Johnny Edward Dodd, age 79, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. He was born in Guthrie on May 28, 1946, to William Dodd and Barbara (Bugg) Dodd.

Johnny graduated from Guthrie High School in 1964. On September 16, 1965, he married the love of his life, Carla Daves, and together they built a beautiful life, sharing nearly 60 wonderful years side by side.

A man of deep faith, Johnny served as an Elder at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His greatest joy was helping others, and he dedicated much of his life to caring for those in his congregation and community.

Above all, Johnny will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family. He took pride in every moment with them and never missed a chance to show his care and devotion. He also found joy in life’s simple pleasures cheering on his favorite college football teams, exploring the magic of Disney World, and traveling with those he loved most. His kindness, gentle spirit, and steadfast love will be remembered always.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carla; son David Dodd and wife Monique; daughter Sheila Varga and husband Von; and son-in-law Steve Hardison. He was a proud grandfather to Harley and wife Madison Dodd, Sabra, Sahara, Heath and partner Bailey Adkins, Addison and husband Kyle Ballard, Alexis and partner Brandon Herbst, Sydney and partner Tayler Williams, Macy and partner Nicholas Fruge' and a great-grandfather to Xoey, Aurora, Amelia, and Olive. He will also be fondly remembered by many other relatives and dear friends. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, William and Barbara Dodd, and his daughter Suzann Hardison.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (5025 S Sooner Rd, Guthrie, OK 73044).
