Guthrie High School has scheduled Commencement Exercises to honor the Class of 2023 for
Friday, May 19, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. The ceremonies will be at either the Lazy E Arena or Jelsma
Stadium depending on availability of the arena. In the event the Lazy E Arena is not available
for the ceremonies, they will be moved to Jelsma Stadium (weather permitting). The district is
expected to be notified in February regarding the availability of the arena.
Graduation announcements will come with an insert which identifies the scheduled location of
the ceremonies.

“Mr. LeGrande (GHS Principal) and I both had hoped to lock in a date for the indoor venue but
also realize families must plan for this important day in the lives of their children. Having
anything outdoors in Oklahoma during the spring can be problematic if a large crowd is
expected. We hope to secure the Lazy E Arena but realize the importance establishing a date
for the event.”
