Elizabeth Marie Ambrose LeGrande

Elizabeth Marie Ambrose LeGrande was born June 27,1935 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Rufus Jacob Ambrose and Mayme Elizabeth Beck Ambrose. Elizabeth was very proud she graduated from Guthrie High School in 1954 and her daddy was able to see her graduate just a few days before he passed away.

October 10, 1954 she married Floyd Harold Le-Grande, they were married 62 years. Elizabeth loved to sew and craft. She made alot of her own clothing and some special clothing for others. She was always working on handmade gifts, candy, and cookies for others.

Floyd and Elizabeth were members of the bee keepers where Elizabeth was secretary/ treasurer for many years. Elizabeth attended the First Baptist Church in Arcadia.

Elizabeth began working Logan County Elections before she was old enough to vote. She spent countless hours registering voters and had a polling place in her home on the family centennial farm north of Arcadia. Elizabeth always served homemade cookies to everyone at every election at the farm.

Elizabeth was a farm wife through and through. She worked the family farm while Floyd worked for the City of Edmond. She loved her chickens, cows, cats, dogs, and hummingbirds. After Floyd retired they continued to work together on their family farm North of Arcadia until Floyd passed away in 2017.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd LeGrande, many Aunts, Uncles, family and friends. Elizabeth is survived by a host of family, neighbors, and friends.

Graveside service will be Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2:00PM at Evansville Cemetery in Meridian, Oklahoma. Viewing and Visitation will Be Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Funeral Home Under the direction of Boydston-Bailey Funeral Home Luther, Oklahoma
