Sam was born July 3, 1972 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Sam H. Wallace Jr. and Marian Leventhal-Wallace. He lived most of his life in Guthrie, OK, graduating in 1990.
He passed away on Saturday October 29, 2022 in Guthrie. Sam spent most of his life in service to others. He became interested in the medical field at age 14, when he was a volunteer at Logan County Hospital Guthrie. By the age of 18 he was working there (dietary), at the age of 20 he was working on the floor doing 6:00 am rounds with Dr. James Dixon. He was inspired to go further in his medical career and became the community CPR Instructor for LCM thru the American Heart Assoc.
He and his wife started their business “Code Blue Inc” in 1991 to 2010. He taught BLS-CPR and Firstaid to nursing homes, fire departments, dentists, daycares, etc. in Guthrie, Edmond and OKC. Sam worked at Willow Creek Healthcare for 6 years as a RN. He did his undergraduate work at OSUOKC. There he maintained a 4.0 GPA for most of his college education. He was on the Provost’s list of Distinguished Students throughout his college years.
He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society; he went onto receive his nursing degree and was an RN for 15 years. Sam volunteered at Woodcrest Fire Department for 4 years. He was an EMT intermediate at the time. He worked the OKC Bombing day of. He went to Project Heartland as many seasoned first responders also did.
Sam’s hobbies included, coin collecting, owing, and fixing classic cars. His first car at 16 was a 1964 Corvair, then a Sterling Kitt car, 1992 Firebird Trans-Am formula which family and others referred to as his baby. He kept it in excellent condition for 22 years, it was his Knight Rider (Kitt car). He also enjoyed being with family and had a great sense of humor. He loved comedy shows, Seinfeld, Letterman, Colbert, and anything “Weird Al” did.
Sam was baptized at the First Assembly of God Church in Guthrie, when he was nine, at the same service his dad and sister were also baptized. He attended the First Assembly Church all his growing up years and was active in the Royal Rangers.
He leaves behind his mother Marian Wallace, sisters, Rebecca Morgan (Patrick), Katherine Rushin (Phillip) and Diane Freeman (Sam), brother Jim Fraley, nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Amber and Aidan Morgan and Melissa Fraley. Also, many other relatives and his kitties Frank and Daisy Mae. Sam will be missed by many friends also.
Remembrance services will be at First Assembly of God Church 1900 S. Division, Guthrie., Sunday November 13 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Mike Gatlin officiating. There will be no viewing. In place of flowers donations could be made to Guthrie Animal Shelter, Guthrie Public Library or Hands of Jesus on Sam’s behalf. These are charities near and dear to his heart.
