Tommy Joe Patterson was born on April 29th 1937. He joined his heavenly father at age eighty five, on July 29th 2022.
Tommy was welcomed into heaven by his loving wife, Ginger Patterson, his parents, Jay and Gladys Patterson, his brother, Jerry Wayne Patterson (Buddy), two sisters, Wanda Goldman and Linda Unrein, and two great grandchildren, Kirsten Crick and James Erickson.
Tommy is survived by his two sisters, Ruth Barber (Sissy) and Jaylene Black, four children, Tommy Jay Patterson, Jeanne E. Patterson, Clint C. Patterson and Randa D. Brooks, twelve grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren, Tommy Joe Patterson was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Jay and Gladys Patterson. He had one brother and four sisters. Growing up his family enjoyed camping and fishing trips to rivers and lakes, and hunting trips in the Cascades. Tommy also enjoyed spending time with his grandpa on the farm. They moved around alot as kids and ended up in Kansas during his freshman year of high school. There he attended Derby High School, where he was Jr Class President, Student Council President Senior Year and participated in HiY, a christian boys club. He graduated in May of 1955. It was there that he met the love of his life, Ginger. After dating for two years they were married on July 4th 1957. Together they had four children together.
Tommy’s biggest passion was being a devoted christian. He would regularly attend church activities. He led care groups, senior groups, volunteered for clown ministry as well as portraying Noah at children’s festivals, just to name a few. Most of all, he loved to share the word of Jesus, and lead others to know the Lord.
After living a long fulfilling life, Tommy was ready to go home to be with his wife in Heaven. He passed away at his home on July 29th 2022. Tommy Joe Patterson was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a great friend to many, and will truly be missed by all. A memorial will be held Wednesday September 28, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Community Church 512 E. Seward Rd. Guthrie Ok 73044 “So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice.”
