Church Picnic in the Park a Perfect Ending to Summer

As autumn’s colors begin to appear, the last of the summer bashes are as hot as the temperature here in Guthrie.

Parks and pools are still some of the best places to relax and enjoy the last rays of the summer sun.

Joining in on the fun is the Guthrie Ministerial Alliance, which will be hosting its Summer Church Picnic next Sunday, Aug. 14. The picnic will be at Highland Park, located at 929 E. Park Place in Guthrie, and takes place from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.

“As the summer wraps up, this is a great opportunity for the church to gather together with other churches in our community for food, fellowship and FUN!” said the release on its Facebook page. “The pool will be open until 6 p.m. plus basketball courts, tennis courts, and the playground! PLUS, there will be FREE catfish, fries, hot dogs, watermelon and water!”

The event is full of fun and fellowship, a perfect way to say farewell to summer with a picnic in the park.
