It’s almost time to get back to school and into the spirit of sports in Logan County.
Media Day has come and gone and the Fall Sports Preview is almost ready to be published.
Guthrie Public Schools are back in session Aug. 18, and fall sports -- especially football at Guthrie High School -- will be heating up.
The annual Meet the Bluejays at Jelsma Stadium takes place at 6 p.m. on Aug. 13, recognizing junior high and high school student-athletes for all fall sports, including cheerleaders and band members. There’s even a tailgate party starting at 4:30 p.m., sponsored by John Vance Motors.
The first Bluejays football game of the season is a road game at Ponca City on Aug. 26.
The first home game, against Woodward, is Sept. 2, followed by the big homecoming game Sept. 9 against Duncan. The band, Jokers to the Right, will be performing at the homecoming celebration.
