The school season is quickly approaching and supplies are needed.
So to help with the demand for all the pencils, crayons and glue for the coming semester, Stuff the Bus is joining Red Brick Nights on Aug. 6 to help gather the needed supplies.
Sponsored by the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce, Stuff the Bus will be collecting school supply donations as well as monetary donations. All proceeds from the Stuff the Bus event are used to help buy school supplies for Guthrie Public School System for the coming fall semester.
Around town there will be receptacles taking school supply donations. Any kind of donation is accepted. School supplies, gift cards and cash donations will all be going to the Chamber of Commerce to fund the supply list provided by the Guthrie schools.
The Stuff the Bus bins will be located across town at multiple locations to collect donations. The list of shops with supply collecting bins are as follows;
Cleveland and Co. Mercantile
The Grand Ole Barber Shop
Rick’s Fine Chocolates
Guthrie Public Library
The Guthrie News Leader
The Lewis Agency Guthrie Chamber of Commerce
“We are excited to partner with Red Brick Nights on August 6th for our Stuff the Bus supply drive. Bring a school supply to the bus located in the Kid’s Area sponsored by NORTHCHURCH Guthrie and receive a raffle ticket. We will be giving away some cool prizes during the event! Let’s come together to help collect as many supplies as possible for Guthrie Public Schools. We hope to see you there!” said the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce on their Facebook page.
Additionally, Red Brick Nights will be rocking out with some fantastic artists, great food and talented musicians.
The Red Brick Nights schedule is as follows;
5 p.m. - food trucks, kids area, shopping, music along Oklahoma Ave.
7 p.m. - music from Jim Garling & Flora Knight
8 p.m. - music from Chelsey Cope
9 p.m. - music from Mallory Eagle
So Aug. 6th be sure to visit downtown Guthrie for the Red Brick Night events and if you have the means, please drop a donation in the bins around town or at the bus in the kid’s area of Red Brick Nights. The support of the community is appreciated immensely, especially in helping the kids with their school supplies this year.
