Dorothy Lee (O”Neal) Powell, 90, of Guthrie, OK passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Guthrie to be under the Lord’s loving care in Heaven. She was born June 24, 1931 in Mulhall, OK to Leo and Gracie (Martin) O’Neal.
Dorothy attended Mulhall schools.
Dorothy was a Christian.
She married John V. Powell in 1952 and to this union, two children were born. Dorothy was a wonderful mother to her son, Danny and her daughter, Linda.
Dorothy worked for the Guthrie Public School system for many years in the cafeterias. She worked several years in the cafeteria at Guthrie High School.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joyce Winters; brothers, Leon O’Neal, R.L. O’Neal, William O’Neal; and several other relatives and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Danny J. Powell; daughter, Linda L. Powell; brother, James O’Neal and wife, JoAnn; sister, Margie Cypret; sister-in-law, June Simpson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Reverend Bob Walker and Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st St., Guthrie, OK 73044.
Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
