At approximately 5:07 p.m., the Guthrie Police Department responded to a shooting victim in the 500 block of W. Noble/State Highway 33.
The victim, a 14-year-old male, was being transported to the hospital from a personal vehicle after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. The driver flagged down a passing ambulance, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although the investigation is ongoing, it was determined that the shooting occurred at the 1300 block of E. Grant. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was contacted for assistance.
At approximately midnight, investigators had determined a person of interest, a 16-year-old male, and had obtained a search warrant for the residence. The warrant was served at approximately 2:45 a.m.
The person of interest was in custody for questioning. The name of the victim has not been confirmed to the Guthrie News Leader as of this time. Notification has been made to the family.
The investigators are continuing to follow leads and the investigation is still ongoing.
