Bluejackets celebrate Homecoming, win first game of year 60-14

The Coyle Bluejacket celebrated Homecoming Friday night and won their first game of the year 60-14 over Bowlegs (0-5).

Prior to the game, Courtney Bass was named Homecoming Queen and Brandon Banwart was named Homecoming King for 2021. The attendants and their escorts were: Kaley Matheson, Jace Lemons, Gracie Balsiger, Wyatt Suchan, Kris Boynton, Genevieve Suchan, Alisa Thomas, Naliyah McLauriin, Damien Lamb-King. The crown bearer and flower girl were Beckham Cooper, and Charles Sayre.

The Bluejackets scored every way possible, with a kickoff return, an interception return, rushing touchdowns and even two passing touchdowns.

Trace Clark led the rushing attack with 26 carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Kris Boynton had two carries for 47 yards and quarterback Alex Jennings had 20 carries for 25 net yards with one touchdown, one fumble, four lost yardage plays, and hooked up for two passing touchdowns.

Jennings was 8-for-11 in the passing game with two touchdowns for 99 yards. Boynton had two catches for 29 yards, Clark had a catch for 30-yards and a touchdown and Quin Amaro had five catches for 40 yards and a score.

The Bluejackets (1-4,1-1 in district play) travel to Maud (4-1, 2-0 in the district) Friday night for a key game to keep their playoff hopes alive.
