GPS School Year Off And Running

Students in Guthrie Public Schools returned to classes today. The High School had a planned late start to accommodate the Senior drive. All buildings reported a smooth beginning to the year.

According to Dr. Mike Simpson, Superintendent of Schools, “I did my customary tour across the district and principals at all buildings reported new students continuing to enroll this morning. We only had one bus that was running late. With the huge influx of students who were not with us last year, we ask for patience with the enrollment process. Despite having online enrollment open since July 5th, some families waited until today to begin. Early numbers indicate we have returned to our pre‐COVID enrollment levels in most buildings.”
