Cecil Edward Otto Burchardt September 29, 1943 - August 4, 2021, Cecil Edward Otto Burchardt of Mulvane, 77, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021, peacefully at his home. Cecil “Ed,” a Mulvane resident for 50 years, worked for St. Joseph hospital for 30 years as Director of Environmental Services and retired from Gore township in 2014. He enjoyed fishing, going to auctions to collect old tools, spending time at the family farm in Marshall, OK, working around his home and flower gardens, and most of all the time he had with his family and friends. Visitation: 1 - 5 p.m. with the family present from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, August 8 and Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021, both at Smith Mortuary, Mulvane. Interment to follow at Littleton Cemetery, Mulvane. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil, and Rachel (Griffey) and two sisters, Alice and Martha Burchardt. Ed is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary M. Burchardt of the home; three children, Valley Bell and husband Henry of Peck, Granville Burchardt and wife Deb of Derby and Floyd Anthony Burchardt and his partner Fred of Wichita; five grandchildren, Henry Bell, Anna Bell and fiancée Grant Todd, Ashley Bell, Christopher McMillon and wife Michelle and Kelly Denney and husband Eric; three great-grandchildren, Abigail McMillon, Isabell and Addison Denney; five siblings, Henry Burchardt and wife Molly of Guthrie, OK, Frieda Mann of Oklahoma City, OK, Lewis Burchardt of Rose Hill, Esther Martin of Jones, OK and Joyce Runyan and husband Bruce of Piedmont, OK.
