Mary Ellen Jones, 94, of Guthrie, OK, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Guthrie, OK. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 12, 2021at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st St., Guthrie, OK 73044. Honorary pallbearers for her funeral service were Leslie Phillips, J.D. Phillips, Eric Fagan, Sarah Fagan Adams, Ty Parker, Malu Parker, Bill Warner, and James Parker. Mary Ellen Fagan Jones was born to Don Cecil and Viola Ruth (Stalcup) Warner in Guthrie, OK August 10, 1926. She grew up in Guthrie with siblings, Vernon Warner and Margaret Warner Craig, both preceding her in death. Mary married Marvin E. (Buck) Fagan September 6, 1945. He preceded her in death November 24, 1972. She later married Robert C. Jones January 16, 1977, who preceded her in death. Mary was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Guthrie. After many years working as a dietician at both Benedictine Heights and Logan County Hospital in Guthrie, Mary retired from the latter in 1991. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and was happiest when she was with her family. Although not one to voice her opinions, Mary led us all by her example of living and enjoying each day to its fullest and trusting in the Lord to guide, direct and protect us all. We are all left with her many legacies and life lessons.
Survivors are daughter Dianna and husband, Rick Stuhr, of Perkins, OK; son, Tom and wife, Cyndi Fagan, of Weatherford, OK; and Ward and wife Joyce Parker of Florida. Others surviving are Mary’s grandchildren, Ty and Malu Parker, Jeff Phillips, Eric Fagan and Sarah Fagan Adams and nine great-grandchildren. Family members preceding her in death are her parents; both husbands; daughter, Joy Lynn Fagan Parker; granddaughter, Leslie Michelle Phillips; step-grandson, Jake Kratky; sister-in-law, Tavo Fagan Parker; brother, Vernon and wife Dorothy Warner and sister Margaret and husband Jack Craig.
