Mary Jane Adams

Long time Guthrie resident Mary Jane Adams, 83, passed away recently in Centennial, Colorado with her son and very loved daughter-in-law by her side. Mary Jane was born July 14, 1937 to the late Jim Riley Mayabb and Opal Tate in Smithville, OK. Mary Jane married J.B. Adams in 1976. He preceded her in death in 2005 after 29 years of marriage. During their life together, J.B. and Mary served throughout the state of Oklahoma as church leaders & pastors. Their life of service and love for God was an important aspect of their lives. Mary also had a love for country music and enjoyed singing at church and with family. Mary retired in 2006 and is survived by her son USMC Veteran, John Riley Nelson, his wife Wilma Nelson; two grandchildren, Janine Dillabaugh, Shari Spooner their spouses and 4 great grandchildren all of whom Mary got to meet and love. Also, in addition, Mary’s sisters Louann, Rila & Suzy who still live in Guthrie or Shawnee with a long list of nieces and nephews and her 2 step sons Chuck and Bob.

She spent her last years with immediate family in Colorado prior to her passing.

A grave site memorial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday the 24th of April 2021 at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 500 SW 104th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
