June 30, 2026 was the end of Fiscal Year 2026. Sales Tax Receipts for the month: $44,685.57. Use Tax Receipts: $12,075.01. General Government ended the fiscal year receiving 97.7% of expected revenues and spent 94.0% of budgeted expenses. Public Works received 120.7*% of expected revenues and spent 98.6% of budgeted expenses. (* Includes proceeds from sale of real property.)
Projects: We have received 5 bids for the ACOGfunded roads project on East Van Buren. The bids range in price from $166,378 to $379,341. The low bidder was All Roads Paving and was recommended by Myers Engineering. City staff has vetted the list of supplied references to our satisfaction and concurs with the recommendation for All Roads Paving.
The Crescent Creek Connection residential property closed escrow on June 18th. 108 acres was sold to Premium Land. Premium Land buys property for the regions largest builder, Homes By Taber. The plat approved for the Crescent Creek Connection allows for 458 homes to be developed in this division. Taber expects the first homes could be completed in a little over 2 years. The city is working with Brent Kisling of Retail Attractions to find a developer for the 20 acres of land planned for commercial development within the project. The remaining 23 acres of land will be available for public access and will include walking/ biking trails and a public fishing pond.
The city received 3 building permit applications for duplexes on the NW corner of town, with 2 more duplexes to follow. When the project is complete, there will be 10 new housing units available. Starting tonight Grady Birchfield will be reporting on housing starts, permit status and completions. City staff has been attending grant application sessions for some of the grants we will be applying for this cycle. Planned applications are for OWRB REAP, ACOG REAP, TSET Healthy Incentive, and TSET Built Environment grants. The city has seen an uptick in Open Records Requests for information regarding our involvement with data center developers. We want to state plainly that we are not discussing or assisting any data centers in or around Crescent. In September of 2025 the city manager, mayor, and District 3 County Commissioner did meet with a group from CloverLeaf Infrastructure to research rumors of a data center planned for our area. We were told the facility would not be located north of the Cimmaron River. That was the last communication we had on the subject.
