Marshall “Buck” Dollarhide passed away quietly at his home in Guthrie on Friday, April 10th. He shared 41 years with his beloved wife, Sharron.
Born in Leominster, Massachusetts, Buck was the son of William and Jean Dollarhide. He graduated from Shidler High School in Oklahoma before earning Bachelors and Masters degrees from Oklahoma State.
Buck was a member of Gideons International and First Southern Baptist Church of Guthrie. He loved to sing and frequently entertained at the Oklahoma Opry, where he was honored with Traditional Country and Western Artist of the Year on two occasions.
Buck was known for his commitment to art through masterful works of pottery and shared that love with his students. He began making pottery 50 years ago and continued to create and teach until 2024. He was an avid gardener who relished days outdoors. His songs were loved and his pottery renowned. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered fondly for his voice, his creativity, and his kindness to others.
Buck is survived by his wife, Sharron, their children, Shannon Scott, Krista McGee, Brady Dollarhide, and Piper Jornales, and two grandchildren, Dalton McGee and Nox Jornales.
