Barbara Clark, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on April 7, 2026.
Born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Barbara spent the latter half of her life in San Diego, where she became a beloved member of her community. She built a successful career as an accountant and Chief Financial Officer before dedicating herself to the study and teaching of Eastern philosophy.
Barbara was a respected practitioner and teacher of Jin Shin Acutouch, through which she wrote books and taught classes, helping many find balance and healing. She was also ordained as a Taoist priestess through the Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego.
A talented artist, Barbara was known for her expressive linedrawing portraits. She has been welcomed by her daughter Teresa, who preceded her in transitioning, and is survived by her two other children, Jeri and Dune, 7 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, sister Connie, brother Gale, as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and will be deeply missed by her many friends, students, and loved ones.
In accordance with her wishes, Barbara will be cremated, and her ashes will be scattered at sea. A celebration of her life will be in San Diego on Monday, December 28th. More information to follow. In lieu of gifts, if you feel so inclined, plant a tree in her honor.
