Dorthey Jane (Fry) Del Rio, 88, of Edmond, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2025. Dorthey was born March 18,1937, the daughter of Frank & Margaret Fry, in Lovell, Oklahoma.
Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening. She spent some years in Real Estate and volunteered reading to students but her true passion was genealogy. Dorthey and her husband, Efren, enjoyed traveling. Her grandchildren said she was ornery and made the best peanut brittle. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. You would always know that each grandchild born would receive a crocheted blanket made with love.
She loved deeply and her kindness and steady presence was treasured as was her strength and compassion that was evident in the way she treated others and faced life’s challenges.
Dorthey will be deeply missed and will always be loved and remembered.
Preceding Dorthey in death are her parents; husband, Efren Del Rio; son, Rudolf Labus; daughter, Ruda Lee Labus; sisters,Twila, Lois, Maxine and Carolyn; brother, Leonard (Bud); and grandson, Nikolaus Labus.
Left to treasure her memory are her son, Michael Labus and wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, Brittany Willison and husband, Steele, Anthony Labus and wife, Chelsea, Tara Clem, Kara Shearer and husband, Matthew and Trudy Labus; granddaughter-in-law, Melanie Labus; and her sisters, Doris Uhgih and Edna Hawkins. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, James Neighbors and wife, Ashley and Kaitlyn Huegel and husband, Nickolas as well as her great-grandchildren, Eveah Labus, Makinzey Kimberlin, Madison Labus, River Labus, Atlas Labus, Tristian Shearer, Lucas Shearer and Ophelia Mugford. She is also survived by her stepgreat- grandchildren, Hunter Huegel, Jack Huegel, Mackenzie Huegel, and Tatum Goins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private family burial was held. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st Street, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
