Janet Kay Whitaker, 78, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025.
Born in Stockton, California, on July 26, 1947 Janet grew up with a strong spirit, a bright smile, and a deep devotion to family. She raised her children in Santa Rosa, California, creating a warm and lively home filled with love, laughter, and her unmistakable wit.
After retiring from the U.S. Postal Service, Janet moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma, in 2002, where she built a new chapter filled with friendships, community, and joy. She spent many years working at the VFW, a place she treasured, and she was the queen at the shuffleboard table.
Janet is survived by her children, including Mr. and Mrs. Jon and Maria Whitaker, Miss Jeanne Whitaker, and Mr. Robert Whitaker. She is also survived by six grandchildren in total and two beloved great- grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her memory, humor, and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 18th at the Guthrie VFW, where friends and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her remarkable life.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her stories, laughter, and spirit will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
