Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Laila Griffin. She is the daughter of Terry and Cresenda Griffin. Laila participates in wrestling and was the 2025 Wrestling Homecoming Queen. She participates in yearbook, tennis, science club, Mu Alpha Theta, where she tutors kids in math.

United Way of Logan County Raises $201,687

United Way of Logan County (UWLC) announced its 2024 fundraising total during the organization’s Campaign Celebration event Jan. 28 at The Guthrie Depot. The campaign raised a total of $201,687 to be invested on behalf of donors to meet the community’s health and human service needs.

The coughs, runny noses and high fevers of students and staff in Edmond area schools resulted in a shutdown this week.Classes were called off in Edmond schools on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 like many other central Oklahoma districts due to reported illnesses.
