Two Arrested Following Seizure of 21 Dogs

Two people were arrested in connection with a child neglect investigation after Logan County deputies assisted the Humane Society of Tulsa in the seizure of 21 dogs living in deplorable conditions inside a small home in Coyle on Jan. 9.Jeffery Minor, 46 was booked into the Logan County Jail on Jan.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Nikole Rowan. She is the daughter of Dawn and Roy Rowan. Nikole is active in band, choir, Jazz choir, Victorian Singers, Pied Pipers, Science Club and the GHS Musicals. She is very active in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.

Mulhall-Orlando’s Kilee Blehm recently competed at the 2026 Mannford Classic, earning top honors throughout the weekend. She captured Grand Champion Ring A with her Champion Dark Cross and Champion Hamp Ring B entries. In Grand Champion Ring B, she again won Champion Dark Cross.

Twenty-One Dogs Saved From Horrific Living Conditions in Coyle

The Humane Society of Tulsa, working with the Logan County Sheriff ’s Office, seized 21 neglected dogs from a home in Coyle, Oklahoma, on Friday, Jan. 9, after authorities discovered the animals living in severe filth.

Guthrie’s Board of Education on Monday approved the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.The first day of school is set for Thursday, Aug. 14, 2026, and the last school day will be May 21, 2027. Thanksgiving break will be Nov. 24-28, and winter break is Dec. 22, 2026-Jan.
