Cold Morning, Sweet Start: Girl Scout Cookie Season Launches in Guthrie

“My favorite cookie is Thin Mints,” said Kadynce Martin of Troop 846. “They taste amazing, and you should buy some.”On Saturday morning, Jan. 31, with temperatures in the low 20s, 94 Girl Scouts from Logan and Kingfisher counties gathered in Guthrie to kick off the 2026 Girl Scout cookie season.

Central Oklahoma Home Builders Foundation 2026 House of Hope Raises Record Funds for Local Charities

The 2026 House of Hope, built by Patrick Vorderlandwehr Homes, became one of the highest-fundraising projects in Central Oklahoma Home Builders Foundation history. The home raised support for five charities, with each organization receiving $30,000 from the sale.

Snow Day Success: First Snow of 2026 Brings Inches, Not Ice

Winter showed up in full force across Logan County, blanketing some areas with as much as 9 inches of snow. Fortunately, the storm delivered the fun without the frustration, as there were no reports of power outages and the expected ice and sleet never materialized.

State of the City: Annual Report Focuses on Transparency, Growth

The City of Guthrie has released its first-ever annual report, offering residents a snapshot of city operations, departmental accomplishments and major projects completed during 2025, while outlining priorities for the year ahead.

Sample ballots are now available for the February 10 Election. Voters can download a sample ballot using the State Election Board OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/ elections/ovp or pick up a copy at the Logan County Election Board during normal business hours.
