OKC will host two events for 2028 Olympics

For the first time ever, the Olympic games will make a stop in Oklahoma.It was announced by the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee last week that the canoe slalom and softball events of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games will be held in Oklahoma City four years from now.

Scouts Host Flag Retirement Ceremony

The Scouting America Pack 850 and Troop 850 hosted a flag retirement ceremony July 1 at the Guthrie VFW Sooner Post 4578 with VFW Post Commander Doug Newton. A history of the flag was read, and the ceremony included a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance as the first flag was retired.

State Capital Publishing Museum Receives Deed Tomorrow

The historic State Capital Publishing Museum in Guthrie will celebrate a significant milestone tomorrow, June 26, 2024, as the Guthrie Tomorrow Coalition, who does business as the State Capital Publishing Museum, receives the deed to the building from the state in a formal ceremony.
