Chief Don Sweger led a ceremony on January 3rd, swearing in and promoting three of the Guthrie Police Department’s finest and most respected officers.
Jason Hamilton was promoted to the position of Lieutenant. His wife and oldest son had the honor of pinning him during the ceremony.
Michael Schmit was also promoted to Lieutenant with former Guthrie P.D. Officer, Aubri Wiley, given the honor of pinning him. Wiley is now an officer in Edmond.
Jonathan “JW” Williams was honored for his dedication and service as a beloved School Resource Officer at Guthrie Public Schools by being sworn in, at last, by Chief Sweger. Williams, now a Reserve Guthrie Police Officer, had never been officially sworn in as an officer.
