Scammers are targeting Logan County residents pretending to Capt. Evans and/or Lt. Sullivan. They are telling victims that they have a warrant for their arrest and that they have to pay to get the warrant removed. The scammers will then demand that the victim go to their bank, withdraw cash, then deposit that cash at a local BitCoin machine, which are often located at gas stations and grocery stores. As all this is happening, they demand that the victim stay on the phone with them, even if it takes hours. These scammers are very convincing and play on the victim’s fear and trust in local law enforcement.
