Recently, a very generous Guthrie citizen worked to add a beautiful new amenity to Highland Park Trails. They worked with the Guthrie High School art students and Guthrie Job Corps to create a Fairy House Scavenger Hunt for the park visitors and their children to find and explore the outdoors with maps and unique fairies for all ages to enjoy.
Thirteen fairy houses were placed, and after one week, only FOUR remained. Vandals have broken, stolen, and destroyed the wonderful effort put forth in designing, creating, and placing this fairy house hunt in our park. The art students drew and created all the fairies and Job Corps constructed all the houses.
So much time and effort went into the creation of this whimsical adventure, so we would like to encourage the citizens of Guthrie If ANYONE has any information on the vandals or the location of the broken/stolen houses, please reach out to the Guthrie Public Works office at 405-282-8400 or the Guthrie Police Dept. at 405-282-3535.
It takes a community working together to make this a fun and safe place for all ages to live and grow. Efforts to bring joy and whimsy should be nourished and appreciated. We welcome any assistance in this matter moving forward.
