The National FFA Organization is one of the largest and most influential youth organizations in the United States with almost 700,000 members. Some may believe that the FFA is only for young adults who were born into or involved in agriculture. But the FFA is so much more. There are countless opportunities for everyone.
Future Farmers of America was first established in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1928 by a group of young farmers. Its mission was “to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population.”
Today, the National FFA Organization is a national youth organization that prepares members for success. It offers leadership skills, career development, and personal growth through agricultural education. Members learn anything from animal anatomy and proper nutrition to how to operate machinery safely and properly. With handson experience, members are able to discover their talents and passions. They can take these talents and passions and turn them into success by competing in numerous Leadership Development Events (LDEs) and Career Development Events (CDEs) .
Members of the Mulhall-Orlando FFA enjoy using their skills in Leadership Development Events including Creed Speaking, Prepared Public Speaking, and Extemporaneous Public Speaking. They also compete in Career Development Events, such as Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems, Farm and Agribusiness Management, Livestock Evaluation, Meats Evaluation, and Veterinary Science.
