WorkHealthy Hospitals (WHH), a grant program of TSET and an initiative
of the Oklahoma Hospital Association (OHA), has awarded Mercy Hospital
Logan County with the WHH Excellence Recognition for the second
consecutive year. This award recognizes the hospital for having
implemented the most effective level of culture that supports employee
wellbeing.

Mercy Hospital Logan County received the WHH Excellence recognition
for the first time in 2021, one year after joining the WHH initiative.
While the hospital already had an established system-wide wellness
program, they incorporated WHH’s recommendations to enhance the
program’s infrastructure to better support their employees.

“Like the Sisters of Mercy before us, we continue to care for one
another and value each of our co-workers, seeing their health and
wellness as one of Mercy’s top priorities,” said Bobby Stitt, Mercy
Hospital Logan County administrator. “In an effort to balance the
value and needs of our co-workers with the importance of their health
to our business, we strive to deliver a complete wellness program with
every aspect designed to make well-being a lasting habit.”

“Mercy Hospital Logan County demonstrates that a healthy, positive
work environment can be achieved by any organization that recognizes
their employees are valued and their most important asset to achieve
their mission,” states Sydney Tomlinson, OHA health improvement
specialist. “They continue to set a high standard of wellbeing by
prioritizing the improvement of the culture of wellness for their
employees, which also impacts the quality of patient care. OHA is
honored to partner with Mercy Hospital Logan County.”

Since 2013, the WHH initiative, in collaboration with the South
Carolina Hospital Association and with funding from the Oklahoma
Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), has worked with more than
45 hospitals statewide and impacted approximately 27,000 employees in
Oklahoma.
