Langston’s Juneteenth 2021 Family Affair Festival Celebration takes place on Saturday, June 12 at T. G. Park. The event starts at 5 p.m. with an opening welcome from the Mayor and City Council Members, and ends at 10 p.m.
The celebration will have a kids zone including:
- A petting zoo
- Horse shoe toss
- Face Painting
- Tattoos
- Music
- Brown’s Baby Doll Swap at 6 p.m.
Young Adults can participate in a car show, or play in a baseball or basketball tournament.
Mr. Malik Omar Dulan will be present, showing animals and people made out of foil. In the event, participants will learn how to make their own foil art to take home.
The Langston University Children’s Library features Spectacular fun, reading books and a book review with Dr. Simpson.
The Langston Men’s Association will sponsor Dominos, Cards, Checkers, Chess and Poker at the event.
There will also be show and tell booths.
Brick Town “Pinot’s Palette”, Art (Painting) and Cheers (drinks and appetizers) and King Butch performing “Stagger Lee” highlight the main attractions.
The celebration ends with church music and spiritual dancers. Everyone is also encouraged to join the Prayer Walk at Langston University Wesley Center at 3:45 p.m.
