Learning to Loom: Hat Making for SWAK, Thursdays, July 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, & 29th, 3:30 – 5PM: Learn a new skill while helping kids in our community. Every Halloween SWAK passes our hats during the trick or treat walk, let’s help them make some!
Ice Cream Social, Friday July 23rd from 3 – 5PM: Celebrate National Ice Cream Month! Enjoy conversation and sweet treats.
4th Annual Cheesecake Contest, Saturday, July 31st From 4-5pm: We are back! National Cheesecake day! To celebrate we are holding our annual contest. Bring in your best cheesecake for a chance to win some awesome freebies.
Teen Programs:
Teen Movie Afternoon- Wednesday’s in July (except the 28th) from 2-4pm:Creature Features Matinees all summer long! Come share in the creatures and snacks.
Teen Library Council- Friday, July 2nd from 5-6pm: TLC is a group of teenage volunteers. Our purpose is to create teen library events that appeal to Guthrie teenagers. If you are interested in joining, please register to be a member of TLC at the front desk of the library.
Teen Fanfiction Book Club- Tuesday, July 13th from 5-6pm: Stories submitted in June will be up for discussion. Pick up a copy at the front desk or visit out website for links to the work.

Adult Programs:
Take and Make Crafts: While materials last, Guthrie Public Library will provide Take and Make weekly craft bags. Each bag contains instructions, all material needed for craft, and all this is yours to keep. Craft bags are available for drive up or distribution (with physical distancing) for teens and adults ages 13 and over. After attaining and completing your project, use our hashtag #GuthrieLibraryCrafts with a picture or video of your completed craft!
First Captial Book Club- Monday, July 19th from 6-8pm: East Indian American Paul Kalanithi's When Breath Becomes Air launches the series. Plunging us into the ultimate limit of mortality, Kalanithi, a young neurosurgeon,wonders what makes a life worth living. Facing a diagnosis of stage IV lung cancer, he wrestles with impending death and a desire to find meaning. Pick up a copy at the front desk.
