Guthrie Public Schools opened for students this morning. The High School had a planned late
start to accommodate the Senior drive. The district administrators toured each building this
morning visiting with students and staff.
According to Dr. Mike Simpson, Superintendent of Schools, “This morning had more of a normal
feel to it than we have had over the past two years. The students and staff I visited with all
seemed to be truly excited about us being back together. The past two years we seemed to
have more anxiety about the unknown than I felt today. We know much work remains to
continue playing catch up for lost learning due to the pandemic but everyone is obviously eager
to continue the journey.”
