Gentling won’t seek re-election as mayor

Mayor Steve Gentling announced at Tuesday’s Guthrie City Council meeting that he will not seek re-election for another term.

Gentling has served as mayor since 2015.

“My plan is to serve Guthrie for many, many more years. It will just not be as your mayor,” he said. “I will not be applying to continue on as a mayor for the next term, but I'm so pleased and happy of what we have done, what we collectively have done, and I know that that will continue.”

Candidate filing for Mayor and City Council is Dec.2-4 at the Logan County Election Board between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Three of the six city council seats—currently held by Tracy Williams, Kaley Mills, and Jeff Taylor—will be up for election.

The Primary Election is Feb. 11, 2025, with a General Election on April 1, 2025, should a primary election not be necessary.
