Body

Dear Tenny Maker:
Your Recreational Trails Program grant application has been tentatively approved for funding in
the amount of $300,000.00. Before this application can be forwarded to the Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) for final approval and funding, we will need the following information
and a pre-award inspection will need to be done at the project site. Also, please remember that if
any project expenses were made before the Project Agreement was signed between the State of
Oklahoma and the Sponsor, then those expenses will not be eligible for reimbursement by this
grant.
Please provide the following documentation to us unless it has already been submitted to our
office or is not applicable to your project:
• The enclosed Notification of Intent (NOI) forms should be completed and one each sent
to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and the Oklahoma Archeological
Survey (OAS) for their review of the project area. The addresses for both of these
agencies are shown at the bottom of the forms. Pay particular attention to Item 17 on the
forms, which asks for maps and legal descriptions of the project area. You will receive a
response from both of these agencies, either approving the project or requiring further
environmental review. A copy of NOI letters and any response letters should be emailed
to this office.
• Attached is a list of the tribes from the FHWA/Oklahoma Department of Transportation
(ODOT) who will need to be contacted in regard to your project. Please allow a 30-day
response time and then provide our office with the letters you sent along with any
responses you receive. If no response was received, then please include a note of this in
the letter.

• Complete and return any other applicable forms (included).
You will be contacted in the near future to schedule a pre-award inspection of the project area.
All persons involved with the project are encouraged to attend this meeting to go over the grant
requirements, ADA accessibility requirements, and reimbursement procedures, and to address
any other questions or concerns about the grant.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you need further information. I can
be reached at (405) 522-9522 or by email at Rhonda.Moore@travelok.com. Our mailing address
is Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department, Oklahoma State Parks, 123 Robert S. Kerr Ave.

We look forward to working with you on this project.
Sincerely,
