“Clays for Kids” Fundraiser to Benefit Sick Children
Cavett Kids Foundation will host its first “Clays for Kids” Shooting Tournament to raise money and awareness for the thousands of kids they serve who are battling chronic and life-threatening illness. The tournament will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Silverleaf Shotgun Sports in Guthrie, Oklahoma from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Cavett Kids Foundation is an Oklahoma City-based nonprofit organization that has been serving Oklahoma’s chronically and terminally-ill children and their families since 1997 by offering FREE camps, special events and ongoing programs, with life-changing impact.
“The aim of every Cavett Kids camp or event is to support the children we serve by ‘developing character, coping and connection’ in each of them,” said Executive Director Ashley Simpson. “Over and over we see kids who join our Cavett Kids family depressed and isolated but after making new friends and learning they aren’t alone, their whole outlook changes.”
Camper Hanna says it best: “Camp for me is a place where kids get to be themselves and not get judged by their appearance and their illness. Camp is also a place where you can face your fears and learn to cope with your illness. I get to meet new people who have the same illness as me. I also love that it does not cost because some people are not as fortunate as others.”
Sporting clay enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels are invited to register at https://cavettkids.org/claysforkids by Wednesday, April 14th at 3:00pm. Individual registration is $250.00; teams of five are $1250.00, with 50 clays AND ammo per shooter included, as well as lunch. Sponsorships are available.
