Guthrie’s boys’ and girls’ soccer clubs ended their home schedules with a pair of Tuesday night wins over district foe Western Heights, leaving one game remaining in the regular season.

Lady Jays' softball crowned district champs

The GHS slow-pitch softball team got one step closer to a state playoff berth Tuesday after winning their own hosted Class 5A district tournament. Coach Kara Tarrant and the Lady Jays went 3-0 in their tournament games in what was the program’s first time hosting districts.

The GHS girls’ soccer team suffered their most lopsided loss of the season Tuesday, losing 0-7 on the road to district foe El Reno. After a 1-2 finish at the Southern Coast Cup in Foley, Alabama, last weekend, the Lady Jays returned to Oklahoma for an afternoon showdown with the Lady Indians.

Guthrie boys’ golf heads on the road once again this weekend as they compete in the Bixby Saturday Showcase at South Lakes Golf Club in Jenks.The 18-hole, stroke play tournament tees off on Saturday, April 12, and will be hosted by Bixby High School.

Guthrie’s varsity baseball team cruised out of Spring Break with three big wins last week, but also passed their first serious test.Last Tuesday, Guthrie played the John Marshall Bears in a district doubleheader to wake up after the long Spring Break layoff.
