Pictured above, The Guthrie High School football team of 2011 which was undefeated and won the third of the school’s four state championships in Stillwater. It is one of three undefeated teams in the history of Guthrie football. The team beat an undefeated McAlester team in Sapulpa in the semifinals in gale force winds and freezing temperatures. The Bluejays then traveled to Boone Pickens Stadium on a Friday morning and beat an undefeated Lawton MacArthur team for the title, a team averaging 54 points a gam

Bluejays lose 22-19 on score with :04 seconds left in game

HEARTBREAKER!!!! In front of a packed house at Jelsma Stadium on Friday night, the visiting Carl Albert Titans scored with four seconds left on the clock to pull out a 22-19 win and hand the Guthrie Bluejays their first loss of the year. The emotion, the atmosphere and the crowd were incredible.

Bluejackets celebrate Homecoming, win first game of year 60-14

The Coyle Bluejacket celebrated Homecoming Friday night and won their first game of the year 60-14 over Bowlegs (0-5). Prior to the game, Courtney Bass was named Homecoming Queen and Brandon Banwart was named Homecoming King for 2021.

Lady Bluejays run rule the Irish to end district season

The Guthrie Lady Bluejays bounced back from the disappointing loss at Piedmont on Sept. 20 to beat Enid 11-2 and close out their district season with a double header sweep against Bishop McGuiness on Saturday.10-0 and 12-2 to finish 12-2 in district action and improve to 18-8 overall.

Bluejays defense skins the Wildcats 35-14

The Guthrie Bluejays went to Piedmont on Sept. 24 and despite falling behind 7-0, would score the next 28 points on the way to a 35-14 win over Piedmont in Piedmont. The Bluejays are 4-0 overall, 1-0 in district play, and it is Carl Albert Week in Guthrie on Friday night.

Area teams head for regional tournaments this weekend

It is time for postseason playoffs in the small schools in Logan County. There are three schools qualified for fast pitch regionals and Mulhall-Orlando has qualified for fall baseball regionals. First, the Panthers beat Paden 12-2 on Sept.
